WTB Resolute 42
The Highland Trail Loop unfolds across Scotland, threading wet rocky doubletrack for 880 km. It is a route that rewards preparation — the right tire, the right pressure, and a willingness to be on the bike for long days.
I rode this route in spring, when the high sections were still wet and the valleys were already warming. The tire choice — WTB Resolute 42 — was the single most important decision I made before leaving, and I would make it again without hesitation.
"A great route is one you finish wanting to plan the next."
Logistics are friendly: small towns every 40–60 km with cafés and water, campgrounds in the shoulder seasons, and the occasional rifugio for the higher passes. Resupply is never the limiting factor here. Fitness and patience are.
